Traveling through regenerating and replanted native kauri forest where unique pottery sculptures line the track. The train includes 2 spirals, 3 short tunnels, 5 reversing points and several large viaducts. At the top there are panoramic views out over the island studded Hauraki Gulf.

After which we travel down the east coast stopping for lunch at a beachside restaurant (various menu options available) afterward we travel to the fascinating 309 rd to stop off at various points of interest including the kauri cove Waiau Falls & the Kauri Grove Walk.

Early evening we arrive at Mercury Bay and the town of Whitianga to check into your boutique accomodation! which is of the highest quality!

After which you have the evening to yourself with some very fine restaurants to choose from for your Evening Meal.

  • Day 2

After a deliciuse  breakfast we have something special planned for you!

Explore and discover Mercury Bay the way Captain James Cook did - by sail!

We board a racing grade catamaran (private charter just for your group) for an action packed yet chilled out exploration of Mercury Bay by sail, taking in the famous Cathedral Cove, and Hahei Marine Reserve along with cooks beach.

Every day on the ocean is different. While the epic seascapes like Cathedral Cove remain the same, the marine life varies, from blue penguins to dolphin, orca & schools of bait fish. With no motor noise, you experience the marine environment the way it should be - pure silence.

Kick back in comfort on the comfy trampoline decks. Leave the worries of the world on the shore, and feel the world open up and the wind in your hair. Like they say - when you are on a motorboat you are going somewhere, when you are on a sailboat you are already there!

Later in the afternoon you have a pamper session at the Lost Springs (Located on New Zealands beautiful Coromandel Peninsula, The Lost Spring is Whitiangas own Pacific Island Resort; the ultimate NZ destination for true relaxation and pampering.
