You will be picked up from your Rotorua hotel/airbnb accomodation in a small group luxury vehicle to experience The famous Waitomo Glowworm Caves, later we travel through the lush green countryside to visit the The Hobbiton Movie Set!
This is where the Hobbit Lord of The Rings Movie set was created, Experience a guided tour around the Hobbit holes including Bilbo's and Frodo’s home then enjoy a drink in the green dragon (either alcoholic beer or non-alcoholic ginger beer) included in your tour.
Waitomo Glowworm Caves
Marvel at Mother Nature's light display as you glide silently through the starry wonderland of the Glowworm Grotto. Meander underground along the Waitomo River and gaze in silence at the myriad of glow worm lights that make up the Glowworm Grotto. As you enter this galaxy of tiny living lights, you'll immediately experience a serene ambience and be fascinated and intrigued by tiny glow-worms that light your way.
Suitable for the widest range of ages and abilities these cave tours are generally a dry and gentle way to explore a cave.
The Tour takes place inside a cave range which involves walking down steps illuminated by electrical lights for aproxematly a 200 metre walk, then a boat ride with no illumination in order to see the glowworms!
Your guide will be able to tell you about the history of the cave as well as showing you speleothems (stalactites and stalagmites), fossils and cave creatures.
